About Us

Idiopathic Calcinosis Research (ICR) is a not for profit charity providing informative information on a group of rare conditions. We also raise donations to support researchers across the globe in finding the cause and answers for these rare diseases.

We are paying particular attention to Idiopathic Scrotal Calcinosis, (SC) Idiopathic Cutis of the Penis (ICP) and Idiopathic Vulva Calcinosis (IVC). Information which is available to the public about these conditions is complex and written in a way which makes it difficuilt to diggest. We therefore took on the inititiative to make this information more readily available and easier to read.

We are also looking at providing the neccessary funds to support medical researchers and health centres to carry out more studies so that we can have a better understanding of these rare diseases which affects males and females worldwide. This is only possible with your help of providng a donation or getting involved through fundraising. With the right budget we can provide these resources and support health services to carry out more studies / research in finding the cause(s) of these group of diseases and any revealing findings.

As ISC, ICP & IVC are non life threatening diseases relatively little research has gone into looking at the cause of their condition. We are still not certain to what later implications they can have and weather they contribute to other disease. As a result IC Research will help raise funds to provide available resources for further research. The cause of some cases on ISC, ICP & IVC is unknown - hence the word idiopathic - and no one knows exactly why or how these diseases occur.
