Why has so little research been done on ISC & IVC?

Is ISC/IVC a life threatening disease? Neither of the two are life threatening.
Can both women and men get ISC? No. Only men can get ISC. As the full title suggests: Idiopathic Scrotal Calcinosis. This means that the cysts (which look like calcium under a microscope, hence the word - calcinosis) appears on the skin of the testicals of men. The counterpat for females is Idiopathic Vulva Calcinosis.
Can both women and men get IVC? No. Only women can get IVC. As the full title suggests: Idiopathic Vulva Calcinosis. This means that the cysts (which look like calcium under a microscope, hence the word - calcinosis) appears on the skin of the vagina lips of women. The counterpart for men is Idiopathic Scrotal Calcinosis.
How many men are diagnosed with ISC & IVC each year? There are no specific figures to date.
Are there any other diseases associated with ISC & IVC?
Is there a cure for ISC & IVC? There is no cures as such for ISC & IVC. The only thing that can be done to remove the cysts is to have them surgically removed. However there is sufficient evidence to suggest that they will return over time.

Can you get any discharge from the cysts? There have been reports of some males having discharge from the cysts.
